Bottle Jacks
WHAT IS A BOTTLE JACK?
A bottle jack is a kind of hydraulic lifting device that is designed to lift vehicles such as cars, trucks, or trailers, off of the ground via a piston mechanism. As they are smaller than most other types of jack, bottle jacks are designed for use in confined spaces, or as a portable type of jack that can easily fit in a service van.
HOW DOES A BOTTLE JACK WORK?
A bottle jack, like any other type of hydraulic jack, works by a handle manually “pumping it up” to extend the vertical shaft. This in turn lifts the desired load off of the ground and supports it on the jack’s bearing pad
WHAT IS A BOTTLE JACK USED FOR?
Bottle jacks are typically used for jobs that do not require a vehicle to be lifted particularly high off of the ground. For example, changing a tire, lifting vehicles for repair or for support in other industrial settings.
