Under LOLER, lifting equipment should be thoroughly examined by a competent person at suitable intervals, or in accordance with a written examination scheme. PUWER may also apply because the hoist is work equipment used in the workplace. Always follow the manufacturer’s manual, site lifting plan and any relevant site safety procedures.
