Endless Flat Belt Lifting Sling, 1,000kg and 2,000kg
Our endless flat belt lifting slings are high quality, UK manufactured polyester lifting slings designed for applications where a continuous soft sling is required. Available in 1,000kg and 2,000kg capacities, these endless flat belt slings offer a practical alternative to endless round slings while retaining the flat bearing surface of a webbing sling.
Each sling is manufactured to BS EN1492-1:2000 with a 7:1 factor of safety and is supplied with a certificate of conformity. The 1,000kg option is 30mm wide and colour coded purple, while the 2,000kg option is 60mm wide and colour coded green for quick WLL identification.
Common Uses for Endless Flat Belt Slings
Endless flat belt slings are suitable for general lifting, maintenance work, workshop handling, light fabrication and load handling where a soft, flexible lifting sling is required. The endless design allows the sling to be rotated during use, helping spread wear across the full circumference rather than concentrating it in one fixed eye.
They are a practical choice for engineers, maintenance teams and riggers who want the flexibility of an endless sling with the load-bearing characteristics of flat polyester webbing. Typical applications include machinery handling, lifting fabricated parts, workshop loads and general industrial lifting where load surface protection is important.
How to Measure an Endless Round Sling
Endless round slings are measured by their Effective Working Length, also known as EWL. This is the usable length of the sling when it is laid flat and measured from one end to the other, as shown in the diagram.

The full circumference of an endless round sling is approximately double the EWL. For example, a 2m EWL round sling has an approximate full circumference of 4m.
When choosing the correct length, consider the size and shape of the load, the lifting points, the hook size, the hitch type and the required lifting angle. The sling should sit correctly around the load without being twisted, bunched or forced over sharp edges.
Always select the correct EWL for the lifting method being used and refer to the sling label, lift plan and load chart before use.
Lifting Hitches and Capacity Guidance
Straight Lift
Suitable for vertical lifting up to the rated WLL shown on the sling label.
Basket Hitch
Can be used where the load is properly supported and balanced. Always refer to the sling label and load chart before lifting.
Choke Hitch
Can reduce the effective lifting capacity. Always check the sling label, hitch factor and lifting plan before use.
LOLER Inspection and Safe Use
Under LOLER, lifting accessories such as endless flat belt slings should be thoroughly examined by a competent person every 6 months, unless a written examination scheme specifies a different interval. A pre-use visual inspection should also be carried out before every lift.
Check the sling for cuts, tears, abrasion, damaged stitching, chemical contamination, heat damage, illegible labels or signs of fibre deterioration. Do not use the sling if the label is missing or unreadable, if there is visible damage, or if the sling has been overloaded. Use suitable edge protection when lifting loads with sharp corners or abrasive surfaces.
