Fitted with a spring-loaded captive locking pin this shackle is a strong choice within the marine industry, with a captive spring loaded pin there is never an opportunity or worry of misplcaing or losing the pin. The spring loaded feature allows the shackle to be opened yet be instantly fixed and closed with a simple release of the pin. Only removable manually which as we all know is a great safety feature, eliminating the risk of a potential disconnection when we need it the most.
You most likely will find this shackle spliced onto a natural mooring rope aboard a sailing vessel helping to keep those sails pointing in the right direction.
