Heavy-Duty Drum Dolly for Moving 210 Litre Drums
The Heavy Duty Steel Drum Dolly is a practical drum trolley and dolly solution for moving 210 litre / 55 gallon drums around the workplace. It is designed to support steel and poly drums up to 400kg, making it suitable for many warehouse, workshop, manufacturing and storage applications.
Instead of manually dragging or awkwardly repositioning a drum, the operator can place the drum onto the dolly and wheel it to the required location. This helps make routine drum handling more controlled, especially when drums need to be moved between storage areas, filling points, production lines or waste collection zones.
Built for Regular Industrial Drum Handling
This drum dolly is manufactured from heavy-duty powder-coated steel and uses reinforced supporting brackets to help keep the frame stable under load. The design gives the drum a secure base while allowing it to be moved in any direction using the swivel castors.
The 360-degree castor movement is particularly useful in tighter working areas where a drum may need to be manoeuvred around racking, machinery, pallets or workshop equipment. The 76mm castors allow the dolly to roll smoothly on suitable indoor floor surfaces, while the low-profile design keeps the drum close to the ground during movement.
Suitable for Steel and Poly Drums
This model is suitable for both steel and poly drums, giving you flexibility across different drum types. It is commonly used to transport oils, lubricants, chemicals, cleaning fluids, production materials and waste handling, provided the drum type, load weight and working environment are suitable.
For best results, the drum should be placed centrally on the dolly bed using appropriate handling equipment. A compatible drum lifting attachment can help position the drum safely onto the dolly, reducing unnecessary manual handling and helping operators keep better control of the load.
Choosing the Right Drum Dolly
Before ordering, check the loaded weight of the drum, the drum diameter and the floor conditions where the dolly will be used. This model has a 400kg capacity and a 603mm inside diameter, making it suitable for standard 210 litre / 55 gallon drums.
For clean environments, washdown areas or sites where corrosion resistance is important, the stainless steel version may be more suitable. For lifting, tipping, rotating or raising drums, a dolly alone may not be enough; customers should compare compatible drum lifters, drum trolleys or forklift drum attachments depending on the job.

Safe Use and Inspection
Before use, check the drum weight, drum condition and working area. The drum should sit securely within the dolly frame and should not exceed the 400kg capacity. Operators should move the dolly at a controlled pace and avoid uneven ground, steep gradients, damaged floors or sudden impacts.
The castors, fixings, supporting brackets and frame should be inspected regularly. If any part of the dolly is damaged, distorted, loose or excessively worn, it should be removed from service until checked and repaired or replaced.
