Why choose an air-powered hoist as an alternative to a conventional electric hoist? Firstly, sometimes you’re in situations where power supply is space or even dangerous to use, Air hoists remove the need for these.
Air hoists are also more suited to tasks that require rapid lifting speeds and, more importantly, continuous usage. In fact, air hoists boast a 100% duty cycle, which is significantly more than the 25% for a maximum of 15 minutes per hour that an electric chain hoist can offer. No limitations!
So Why Tiger you ask? Tiger Industrial Air Hoists have been specifically designed for, and proven in, an extensive range of industries including mining, shipyards, offshore construction and power stations, but are also often used in automotive plants, foundries and heat treatment factories.
The innovative Tiger Industrial Air Hoist is available in safe lifting capacities from 0.25tonne right through to 20tonnes, with each unit offering reliable, fast, quiet and safe operation. But that’s not all…
Load Limiter: The integral differential pressure load limiting vale automatically prevents operators from lifting a load of more than 125% of the stated working load limit. The load limiter is 100% repeatable at all working pressures and does not wear or produce any damaging heat. As standard, load limiters are supplied on all hoists over 1tonne capacity.
Emergency Stop: Pendant Control hoists are supplied with a mains emergency stop valve, which shuts off the main air supply when activated.
Pendant Control Options: Tiger Air Hoists are supplied with either aluminium hard anodised controls, offering excellent corrosion protection, or a Nickel-Plated SG iron option, as well as twist grip or dual control pendant.
Temperature Range: Tiger hoists have an ambient temperature range of -20°C to +70°C
Precise Control: Accuracy and precision positioning are standard practices for Tiger Industrial Air Hoists.
Fail Safe Disc Brake: Non-asbestos self-adjusting disc brake is applied automatically when the air supply is shut off. It is self-adjusting for the entire lifecycle of the brake, and has the capacity to hold more than 125% of stated working load limit.
Integral Silencer: An exhaust air silencer is built into the hoist gearbox, limiting noise levels to below 85dB(A).
Load Chain: The Grade 8 load chain, manufactured in accordance with EN818-7 Appendix A, ensures that strigent heigh-speed duty cycles can be achieved
Sealed Gearbox: The sealed planetary gearbox ensures that the most stringent duty cycles can be met, with gears heat treated and mounted on high-strength, low friction bearings.
Easy Maintenance: The modular design of the hoist allows easy access to internal components including the motor, gearbox, brakes and load limiter. In addition, all parts are common, therefore the risk of obsolescence is removed.
ATEX: Manufactured in accordance with ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and suitable for ATEX Category 3 – normal safety.
