OVERVIEW
A building contractor carrying out a multi-storey commercial refurbishment required a safer and more efficient method of transporting construction materials between ground level and upper working floors. Manual handling and temporary lifting methods were slowing progress and increasing health and safety risks.
To improve site productivity, the contractor implemented a scaffold hoist system to safely lift tools, materials, and equipment directly to each working level.
CHALLENGES
The site team encountered several operational challenges throughout the project:
- Manual material handling reduced productivity
- Carrying heavy loads upstairs increased safety risks
- Limited access restricted material movement
- Tight project deadlines required faster workflows
- Need to improve site safety and working efficiency
The contractor required a reliable lifting solution that could be quickly installed and safely operated throughout the refurbishment.
SOLUTION
A scaffold hoist was installed directly onto the site scaffolding, providing a dedicated lifting system for transporting construction materials between floors.
With a lifting capacity of up to 150kg, working heights of 30m, and a lifting speed of 18.5m/min, the hoist enabled safe, controlled movement of tools and materials while significantly reducing manual handling and improving productivity across the project.
