The LES Hydraulic Drum Palletiser Truck is designed to load and unload drums of either steel or poly material up to a weight of 450kg from the corner of pallets and skids!

More specifically from the corners of each pallet offering ultimate access and maneuverability around the pallet when both loading and unloading!

Lifting & Lowering

The LES Corner Pallet Drum Truck is designed to load and unload drums of either steel or poly material up to a weight of 450kg from pallets or stillages.

More specifically from the corners of a pallet or stillage offering ultimate access and maneuverability around the pallet when both loading and unloading thanks to rear steerable wheels.

Wheels & Steering

Located at the front of the unit are two fixed wheels and located at the rear of the unit are two steerable wheels fitted with a parking brake. Two fixed wheels allow accurate and stable support when loading and unloading drums from the pallet, whilst two steerable wheels located at the rear offer ease of movement again when loading and unloading, for safety the rear wheels are fitted with a brake to lock the unit into place when docking to ensure no unnecessary unit movement and offer optimal safety and security throughout the drum handling process.

Gripping and Grabbing

On the LES Hydraulic Drum Palletiser Truck, there are a number of mechanisms to aid and assist with the raising and lowering of your drums, one of the most important is the top grip situated at the very front of the unit, this is the main point of contact when addressing the drum! With the jaws of the gripping system engaged once the pump is active, this makes for secure and safe holding of the drum in both the raising and lowering process. This grip also removes the need for the user to touch the drum as the jaw both grabs and releases the drum automatically when required.

Pressure Release Control Rod

Another important component found on this unit is the Pressure Release Control Rod situated at the rear of the truck, this spring-loaded rod automatically closes the valve when released from the operator's hand which prevents any unintentional movement of the drum and automatically engages the pump in the raising process, yet can accurately and smoothly lower the drum when required with a simple clockwise turn of the ergonomically designed handgrip found at the top of the rod. This allows the user to slowly lower the drum at their required pace and can be stopped immediately by releasing in order to revert the mechanism back into the raise position, by doing this it stops the lowering process for optimum safety and reassurance.

Using your LES Hydraulic Drum Palletiser Truck:

  • First things first ensure your brake is not engaged as this will allow you to move the unit.
  • Assuming you have a drum in sight, drive your unit up to the drum, ensure that when you reach the drum these two things occur:
  • Firstly, The drum lid/lip is sitting between the jaws of the top rim grip
  • Secondly, The drum itself is in contact with the bottom plate situated at the bottom of the unit between the legs
  • Once happy engage the brake at the rear of the unit, very simple to do by pressing down with your foot onto the lever on the brake to clamp the wheel into place.
  • This now ensures optimal safety and security from this point onwards until you are certain that the brake can be released etc.
  • Next step is to check that the rod located at the rear of the unit is in the raising position? This will allow you to engage the pump and begin the raising procedure.
  • Right your rod is engaged now the foot pump can be brought into the procedure! Simply lower the arm of the foot pump down to offer this to your foot.
  • Place your foot onto the platform and begin to push your foot down to the ground and raise back up to start the gripping process with the top rim grip.
  • As you begin to pump with your foot you will notice that the top rim grip is beginning to move, once it reaches the correct point of contact the jaws of the grip will clamp onto the lip of the drum!
  • This nows means the drum is gripped and clamped in place and the raising process can now be fully completed without fear of the drum falling
  • Simply raise the drum to your required height.
  • Should you now need to move the unit with the drum engaged then release the brake and move to your desired location.
  • Once in the location you require, simply engage the rear brake to secure the unit.
  • Lowering the drum is a very simple process as it is all controlled by the rod situated at the rear of the drum and is totally controlled by the user.
  • As you will possibly have noticed in the raising process the rod has two functions (Raising and Lowering)
  • The unit will always remain in the raising position to ensure the hydraulics are always active for both effective and efficient raising but also to ensure the unit remains fixed in place and not dropped or lowered without permission.
  • Now on the rod, it is very easy to begin the lowering process, as you will find out.
  • Grab the hand control found at the top of the rod and simply twist in the direction as instructed on top to engage the lowering function.
  • This is controlled through a spring-loaded mechanism so once released this will revert to the raising position which will immediately stop the lowering process for optimal safety and security through the process.
  • Only use the step above if that is required if not then simply control the descent of the drum by turning the control slightly, this can be increased in speed by turning the control further but it is at the discretion of the user to control the descent safely!
  • Once the drum comes into contact with the pallet and is safely onto the required surface you will notice that the bottom grip on the jaws retracts allowing the user to remove the unit from the drum.
  • Release your brake and you are good to go!
