A good place to start is by giving you an idea of what this product is.

LET'S LOOK AT WHAT THIS EQUIPMENT IS
You will find that jacks are often used in the construction industry due to being able to be easily used to vertically lift different materials or structures.

The jacking of a material is the lifting of that unit to position, accommodate the insertion of another element underneath, or inspect the underneath of a unit.

There are a number of different jacks that you can get which include toe jacks, bottle jacks, forklift jacks, steel jacks, and trolley jacks which can be supported with axle stands as an add-on. The variations give you a number of different options depending on what your situation is.

Because the team at LES always wants to make sure you've got the information to help you with any products you buy, we put together an article titled ‘5 steps you can follow when using mechanical jacks'. In this article, you'll be able to get exactly what it says on the tin as well as the differences between mechanical and hydraulic jacks.

WHAT ARE MECHANICAL STEEL JACKS?
In a simple description, this item is used for assembling and supporting loads.

You will find that this sturdy and strong jack is typically used to lift most loads due to them being extremely strong.

This can be useful when you're repairing heavy machinery and stop your team from getting injured!

HOW YOU CAN HANDLE THE JACKS
When you are operating one of these lifting items, you need to position the steel jack below the load and lower the load slowly onto the head or claw of the jack.

From here, unfold the grip on the cranking handle until an angle of 90° is reached.

Then, in order to lift the load, turn the crank handle in a clockwise direction and this should help lift your load. It is really this simple!

TIPS ON HOW TO OPERATE A MECHANICAL JACK SAFELY

You will find that they are suitable for lifting, lowering, and supporting both light and heavy loads.

There are a number of aspects to remember when operating your mechanical steel jack to ensure you and your workers keep safe, which include:

·      Only lift appropriate loads and stay within your jacks capacity

·      After lifting or tensioning a load, it's important for you to not leave the load unattended in case it falls and causes injury or damage to the workplace floor

·      Start moving the load only after it has been attached correctly

·      The jacks can be operated at ambient temperatures between -10°C and +50°C. Try and stay within these ranges

·      Inspect your item regularly and keep it in a safe place

·      If you find a defect, please stop using your product immediately

These tips are here for your safety and prepare you for lifting and please remember that we highlighted there are different jacks you can get and the handling of these might differ slightly.

If you aren't 100% confident on how to operate yours, then we recommend that you please read the manual guide, ask someone on site who knows how to use them, or of course check with a member of the team at LES.
