Liftking 12,000kg Endless Round Sling, 3m to 6m EWL
The Liftking 12,000kg / 12 tonne endless round sling is a high capacity polyester lifting sling designed for demanding crane and heavy rigging applications. With a 12,000kg working load limit and 7:1 factor of safety, it is suited to specialist lifting contractors, offshore operations, heavy civil engineering and large structural steel projects.
This 12 tonne round sling is manufactured from 100% polyester and colour coded orange for quick WLL identification on site. It provides a flexible and load-friendly alternative to chain, helping reduce operator handling effort while protecting load surfaces when correctly used. Each sling is manufactured to EN1492-2:2000, certified to TUV and GS standard, and supplied with a certificate of conformity.
Common Uses for a 12 Tonne Round Sling
This 12,000kg endless round sling is suitable for heavy crane operations, large structural steel lifts, offshore equipment handling, civil engineering work, machinery installation and heavy fabricated assemblies. It is a practical choice for complex lifts where high capacity, flexibility and surface protection are required.
Typical applications include lifting large steelwork, heavy machinery, crane-handled plant, industrial equipment and major fabricated structures. The soft protective sleeve helps distribute contact pressure across the load when the sling is correctly selected and protected.
How to Measure an Endless Round Sling
Endless round slings are measured by their Effective Working Length, also known as EWL. This is the usable length of the sling when it is laid flat and measured from one end to the other, as shown in the diagram.

The full circumference of an endless round sling is approximately double the EWL. For example, a 2m EWL round sling has an approximate full circumference of 4m.
When choosing the correct length, consider the size and shape of the load, the lifting points, the hook size, the hitch type and the required lifting angle. The sling should sit correctly around the load without being twisted, bunched or forced over sharp edges.
Always select the correct EWL for the lifting method being used and refer to the sling label, lift plan and load chart before use.
Lifting Hitches and Capacity Guidance
Straight Lift
Suitable for vertical lifting up to the rated WLL shown on the sling label.
Basket Hitch
Can be used where the load is properly supported, correctly balanced and the sling angle is suitable.
Choke Hitch
Can reduce the effective working load limit. Always check the sling label, hitch factor and lift plan before use.
LOLER Inspection and Safe Use
Under LOLER, lifting accessories such as round slings should be thoroughly examined by a competent person every 6 months, unless a written examination scheme states otherwise. A pre-use visual inspection should also be completed before every lift.
Inspect for cuts, tears, abrasion, heat damage, chemical contamination, damaged stitching, missing or illegible labels, exposed load-bearing fibres, knots or signs of overload. Use suitable edge protection when lifting loads with sharp corners or abrasive contact points.
